Deliverables

What we created

The Mandarin Oriental lettering along the façade under a flat grey sky
Swans and gulls drifting on the Rhône at dusk, a boat tied up at the quay
Seen past the bed and a drawn sheer: reading in the armchair by the window
A silhouette pulling the curtains back on the morning
A hand setting the cloche down on the laid table
Breakfast brought to the bed, the silver lifted off the plate
The Sachi menu closed on the table, the mark blind-embossed into the cover
The length of the restaurant in low light, one lantern burning at the near end
A folded napkin and a pair of Sachi chopsticks squared up on the tray
A chef crossing behind the counter in a blur, the timber racks stacked above
Two chefs working the pass while a guest passes through the frame
Chopsticks over the sushi selection, roe and citrus catching what light there is
The plate as it goes out: greens and shredded citrus laid over the fish
Coffee poured on white linen, the rest of the table falling out of focus
The Swiss flag out on its bracket above an old-town street
Over the rooftops with the Jet d’Eau standing up in the distance
A figure crossing the lit mouth of a passage at the end of the dark

The brief

How we approached it

We were tasked with lifestyle photography and a social media piece that reflected sophistication and elegance, while positioning Geneva as the gateway to the Alps.

The two of us on the quay checking the back of the camera, the city behind
Caught in the restaurant window: the room and its cushions inside, the street reflected over it
Two cards out on the hotel notebook, the fan blocked in gold beside them
